Fire Station 6 to get new look

city of Kokomo is planning to give Fire Station 6 a facelift in 2014.
in the budget for the Kokomo Fire Department is an appropriation of
$135,000 for improvements to the station, 1717 E. Boulevard, which was
constructed in 1963 in the same era as Station 3.
Fire Department budget includes $25,000 to remodel the restrooms at
Station 1 and $40,000 for repairs and maintenance of the six current
Chief Pat O’Neill said the two stations were built identically in the
1960s. He said in the early 1990s, a new bay was added to Station 6 to
house the aerial ladder truck.
